The Farmer's Daughter

unavailable
This is a story about God’s unconditional love. The main character started making assumptions at the age of ten due to a family tragedy. At the age of fifty where this story begins, she continues to use those assumptions to protect herself from what she perceives has only hurt her in the past. She and her father have been estranged for forty years. Due to her mother’s death, she returns to the farm to handle some business transactions. During her visit, she discovers the truth about her father’s past but is more confused and struggles to reconcile how a God of loves brings so much pain to His followers. She becomes immersed in the community but continues to protect herself from anything that could break through her protective shell. As new relationships develop she does not see how her mother’s unconditional love laid the foundation for this community to heal. An ultimate nice guy, teenage girl, and her mother’s witty friend all play a role in helping her discover that God’s unconditional love was there all along.
