A sad but inspiring story, how black people was treated unfairly because of their color at the same time inspiring how they manage to deal with so much hardship and still find ways to have a better life.

Great book, I knew some history but never with so many details. awesome.

I would give this book a thousand stars if I could. I'm very grateful to the author and everyone she interviewed for sharing these stories with me.
