Everyone has experienced a sense of brokenness in their lives; the feeling that inwardly you are in pieces and aren’t sure when you will become whole again.
But in the new memoir from author Sabrina Gray, Mending Brokenness, Sabrina wants to use her story of brokenness to inspire readers to see that a relationship with God is the eternal balm to heal anyone’s brokenness.
Reflecting on painful moments in her life where she wasn’t sure what to do, Sabrina describes how the reassurance of God’s mercy, love, and deliverance reminded her that hope was still there and found through her relationship with Christ.
As she dealt with the difficult points in her journey, Sabrina learned the importance of leaning on God for support and showing her vulnerable side to the Lord. These faithful actions taught Sabrina that brokenness could actually become a strength for us, but it is the admitting of being broken that people must come to terms with first.
Whether it was dealing with the struggles of divorce or revealing her “uglies” to God or even harnessing her love of teaching into a calling and career, Sabrina seeks to be as honest and open with readers to encourage them to also be open with the Lord and willing to walk intimately with Him.
The hope is that readers see trusting God with the good and bad parts of our lives, especially the broken parts, will bring us not only blessings but a stronger, loving connection to Him.
Brokenness is something we all go through at some point in our lives, but if we give that brokenness over to God, we can see it used for healing us and bringing glory to Him.
