Mark Price joined the John Lewis Partnership in 1982 as a graduate trainee and had numerous roles during his 34 years with the organisation. He spent 17 years on the board of Waitrose, becoming Managing Director in April 2007, holding this post until March 2016.He was also Deputy Chairman of the John Lewis Partnership from 2013 to 2016.Mark was appointed Chairman of Business in the Community in January 2011, a post he held for four years, and was also appointed Chairman of The Prince's Countryside Fund in 2010. In February 2016 he was made a Life Peer and a member of the House of Lords, joining the Conservative Government as the Minister of State for Trade and Investment. He was appointed a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in the 2014 New Year Honours.
