To anyone who has been told they’re “too much.”

Burn brighter.

One could get used to anything with time.

So, he was a shadow walker. Interesting.

Interesting and dangerous.

Stupidly pretty king.

She would always have my heart. Not in a romantic sense, but in every other way that mattered. Maybe those ways mattered more anyways.

I wondered if this was what it felt like to be glamoured by a siren’s song. Lovely, but at the same time, deadly.

Of course, it was torch lit. No need for modern electricity in creepy castle passages.

My uncle smiled and said, “So cocky, even when facing your death.”

I simply returned his smile and replied, “If not now, then when?”

“Of course. You always have a choice, even in death.”

And with that, I had my answer.

I had to go back. But more importantly, I wanted to. I wanted life and love, even if it brought more pain.
