Molly Dunn

Molly Dunn is an American author known for her romantic comedies that explore modern love and creative self-discovery. Her debut novel, So Many Somethings (2024), blends fanfiction, real-life romance, and themes of ambition and fear in a witty and heartfelt story.

Molly Dunn was born and raised in Northern Virginia. A journalism graduate of Northeastern University, Dunn works remotely in a tech-savvy facility, but devotes her free time to romance marathons, candle shopping, and knitting projects.

In So Many Somethings, Dunn introduces Diana, a line cook at her family's struggling French café in Manhattan, who escapes her hectic life by writing real-life fanfiction about Sam Raymond, a rock star battling a career-threatening vocal injury. What Diana doesn't know is that Sam himself, under the pseudonym 'S', is one of her most enthusiastic readers. When Sam pays an unexpected visit to Diana's café, the worlds they've kept apart collide in a whirlwind of crêpes, music and mutual intrigue.

Diana and Sam's growing bond is complicated by their respective secrets. Sam finds comfort in his online interactions with Diana's pseudonym, even as he faces crippling fears about his future. Meanwhile, Diana struggles to reconcile her feelings for the real Sam with her ongoing fictional stories, which she sees as her best chance of leaving the kitchen behind to pursue professional writing. Their story asks whether love can survive the intersection of fantasy and reality — or whether it's doomed.

Molly Dunn still lives in Northern Virginia.
