Viktor Messick, published in the August 2014 issue of Heater, is a life-long fan of speculative fiction and detective stories. In particular, he has been greatly influenced by the writings of Sir Author Conan Doyle, Wilkie Collins, and the American pulp writers of the early twentieth century. He holds three college degrees, most notably an M.A from American University. He was an intern at the world-famous Woodrow Wilson International Center for Visiting Scholars and a research fellow at the Council on Hemispheric Affairs, both located in Washington D.C. He became a college instructor at the age of twenty-nine. He resides in Central California.
