I grew up in Pelham Manor, New York, an idyllic small town, where everyone knew their neighbors. The beach and horseback riding trails were a bicycle ride from my house. I often explored the woods a block away, where my friends and I hiked, built forts and let our imaginations run free.I have been a reader and a writer for as long as I can remember. As a child I entered a fantasy world through reading. Each night before I fell asleep, I conjured up stories of my own, often using the characters from a book I'd read.I attended Becker Jr. College in Worcester, Mass., and majored in journalism. I put that knowledge to good use during a stint as a newspaper feature writer-photographer. Photography has been a life-long interest.Early freelance publication included short women's fiction and non-fiction. Later I became a travel, camping, and outdoor adventure writer-photographer, which explains the detailed descriptions of locales and scenery in my books. My love of animals often emerges in my stories. Our pets have included dogs, cats, bunnies, and a Morgan horse. Our beloved calico cat, Tosha, who is now in Kitty Heaven, has a starring role in SILVER SERENADE. The book I'm currently working on, gives the reader a heavy dose of romance while introducing wild mustangs, a horse therapy ranch, and a treacherous land grab.My husband, John, and I live in a small coastal town along Monterey Bay and have a vacation home in Lake Tahoe. I love being near the water. Besides writing, I enjoy reading, photography, the beach, and crafts. A few years ago I jumped on the knitting bandwagon, but never got past the garter stitch. While my granddaughter learned to make sweaters, purses and hats, I knitted scarves; lots of scarves. I have created enough scarves for a lifetime of gifting. My favorite pastime is hanging out with my family.
