Peter Sutcliffe, aka the Yorkshire Ripper, is a perfect example of a mission-oriented serial killer.

Upon his capture, Sutcliffe famously said that he was “just cleaning up the streets.”

Edmund Kemper is an ideal example of a Lust killer. Between 1972 and 1973, Kemper picked up a total of six female hitchhikers around Santa Cruz, California, then attacked, strangled, and dismembered them. Each of his kills gave Kemper sexual gratification—not just from the act of killing, but also from the act of postmortem mutilation.
