“Gods, you’re delicious,” I tell him. Because it’s true.
Ellis’ face reddens even more. He’s flushed all over.
“Stop calling to the gods,” he jokes. “We don’t want their attention on us just now.”

“You look good,” I say simply.
Even though I want to say, you’re everything I’ve ever wanted without even knowing it. And yet, here you are.

Now I hope that the next seizure will finally kill me. I’m so tired of this life that I can barely live anymore.

Luke’s smile starts small, like the first ray of sun through the trees at dawn. But then it gets bigger and bigger, until it’s all I can see, and I’m blinded.

“Yes, please,” Luke says.

I don’t know what he’s begging for, but I would give him anything he wants.
