Mali Fariña is a Spanish author known for her compelling stories and vivid characters. She made her debut in 2024 with I Like Your Car.

Born in Marín, Pontevedra, Fariña has resided in Castelldefels, Barcelona, since 1986. This blend of Galician and Catalan cultures has influenced her writing, adding depth and diversity to her characters and settings.

Fariña's journey into writing began later in life. After completing a degree in Teaching, she dedicated herself to her family, caring for her children, including her eldest son, Francisco Antonio, who required special care. His passing at 30 was a profound moment in Fariña's life, which she channelled into her creative pursuits. This personal journey enriched her writing with a unique perspective on resilience and hope.

Her debut novel, I Like Your Car, is the first in The Girls from Mali series. The book features Amaya, a modern, empowered woman navigating the complexities of friendship, love, and jealousy. Against the backdrop of a bustling city, the story unfolds as Amaya meets a famous man. His appearance in her life sets off unexpected events.

The narrative is infused with humour, suspense, and a deep understanding of human emotions, making it a compelling read. Fariña describes her characters as "women who are brave and empowered, determined to shape their destinies."

The novel has been well-received, with readers praising its engaging plot and relatable characters. One reviewer noted, "Fariña's storytelling is fresh and entertaining, with an unexpected twist that keeps you hooked." The book's success has led to plans for a television adaptation.

In addition to her literary pursuits, Fariña regularly participates in literary events, often seen at book signings and festivals. Despite facing health challenges, including a stroke in December 2020, she continues to write and engage with her audience.

Mali Fariña lives in Castelldefels with her family, including her grandchildren.
