David Aers is Professor of English and Religion at Duke University. He is the co-editor of The Journal of Medieval and Early Modern Studies and author of, most recently, Culture and History, 1350-1600 (Wayne State, 1992) and Community, Gender, and Individual Identity: English Writing, 136-150;1430 (Routledge, 1988).
