Do you really need another commentary on Revelation? Perhaps you should consider one with a different approach to its interpretation. Justice Certain is such a commentary whose author desired his readers to challenge their presuppositions about Revelation by purposely avoiding the labels of the systems of eschatology to focus on the principles by which various authors interpret the book.
Richardson’s interpretation is unique in its consistent application and implication of the interpretive principle known throughout history as the Analogy of Scripture. The familiar tenants of the analogy include such truisms as, “Scripture is the best interpreter of Scripture.” The benefit for contemporary readers of Revelation is their freedom to apply these principles and draw authentic conclusions consistent with the writings of the Prophets, Apostles, and Jesus. Interpretations that fail to meet this standard should be weighed and found wanting.
