George Campbell was a pioneer evangelist in Newfoundland and Labrador for thirty years. Born in Vancouver, B.C. February 1, 1927, he was raised in San Francisco Bay area of California. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and after a period of searching, was born again November 19, 1951. In the summer of 1984, the doctors diagnosed his cancer of the pancreas and liver as inoperable. From that time until his death on March 21, 1985, he openly spoke of his approaching death and used every opportunity to challenge Christians and warn non-Christians. His family willingly and openly discussed with him their concerns and were well prepared when he left his body peacefully to be with the Lord at 10:00 p.m. March 21, 1985.
