Reclusive artist Dovra Aksu inherits more than just a tapestry from her enigmatic grandmother. Shimmering with iridescent threads, the heirloom depicts a city defying gravity, adrift in a fractured, opalescent sky—a city Dovra begins to experience in vivid, hallucinatory visions.  These aren't dreams, but visceral intrusions, echoing with an ancestral memory she can’t explain.
Desperate for answers, Dovra seeks out Carolyn Logan, a renowned anthropologist specializing in forgotten cultures. Logan’s research reveals a startling possibility: Dovra’s lineage might trace back to the Erimeth, a vanished race of interstellar artisans said to weave the very fabric of reality into their art.  Hidden within the tapestry's intricate weave, they discover a viscous, shimmering fluid pulsing with latent energy.  A single drop, and Dovra’s world dissolves, pulling her not through space, but through consciousness, directly into the heart of the Sky-Split Tapestries.
The city unfolds around her, breathtakingly tangible. Buildings spiral into the fractured sky, gravity a mere suggestion, the air alive with unseen energy.  A figure coalesces from sentient ink, her guide — a fragment of the Erimeth consciousness, a living record of their civilization’s tragic history. He reveals the Erimeth's mastery over dimensional manipulation, their ability to weave entire worlds into their art—an artistry that ultimately became their undoing.  Now, fragments of their knowledge, their art, their very essence, reside within select bloodlines scattered across the cosmos—bloodlines like Dovra’s.
Within the tapestry city, Dovra discovers her own untapped potential, a latent ability to manipulate reality inherited from her Erimeth ancestors.  But with every thread she manipulates, her identity frays, human and alien warring within. On Earth, Carolyn’s research unearths a hidden community of “Weavers” and a shadowy organization, the “Order of Silenced Threads,” dedicated to eradicating any trace of the Erimeth’s existence.
