Dr. Emma Reynolds, a neuropsychologist haunted by fragmented memories of a shadowy figure and a sterile laboratory, navigates this memory-saturated world with growing unease. When a prominent tech mogul disappears without a trace, Emma is recruited by a shadowy government agency to investigate these unprecedented erasures. Her investigation leads her to the Archivists, a clandestine group operating within the Exchange, subtly rewriting history one memory at a time.
Emma's path collides with Detective Terri Smith, a woman whose digitally enhanced memories of a wrongful conviction fuel her relentless pursuit of justice.  Terri's augmented memory, a blessing and a curse, allows her to recall every detail of her ordeal, but also makes her acutely aware of the malleability of truth in a world where memories can be bought, sold, and altered.  Their alliance is an uneasy one, forged in the crucible of a shared pursuit of the truth.
Together, they uncover a conspiracy that reaches the highest echelons of power, a world where oblivion is traded like any other commodity.  As the Archivists’ activities escalate, Emma’s fragmented memories begin to coalesce, leading her closer to a terrifying revelation — the shadowy figure from her past is not just a figment of her imagination, but a key player in the conspiracy, someone who has deliberately tampered with her own memories.
