The Erotic Contemplative (eBook) is a companion study guide and notes to the video lecture series The Erotic Contemplative (1994) by Michael Bernard Kelly. Recently digitised and reissued, the lectures explore traditional modes of Christian contemplation in the context of spirituality in the lives of lesbians and gays. The lectures are affirming and healing words for this generation from a gifted scholar and counsellor.
Michael Bernard Kelly is an Adjunct Research Associate at Monash University’s Centre for Religious Studies, Australia. Over the past twenty years he has led retreats, spoken at conferences, lectured at universities and published essays and papers in Australia, the UK and the USA. He is the author/presenter of The Erotic Contemplative video-lecture series, author of Seduced by Grace a(clouds of Magellan Press) and Christian Mysticism’s Queer Flame: Spirituality in the Lives of Contemporary Gay Men (Routledge Studies in Religion).
