No, they don’t teach you what it takes to be human, what it takes to be real.

I do not hate you for the things you did to kill your sadness

I love you – despite hurting you.

I love you – despite judging you.

I love you – despite being incapable of loving myself.

How are you supposed to love the darkest, and most flawed parts of the person your heart chooses, if you won’t allow yourself to love your own?

When I imagine courage I do not see daredevils or fast cars. I simply envision a man, loving with every inch of himself – loving despite the past.

When I ask you about your first love, I am always secretly hoping that you will say your own name.
