Themes have emerged in this issue. Our contributors have offered the students courage and resilience at the beginning of the year and compassion and hope in the midst of an unsettling Advent season. The articles and sermons also ponder the future of the church with a growing number of unaffiliated young people. The prayers wrestle with an uncertain future and sermons explore the complexities of a religiously plural world. It seems that what sustains us on this journey is a community of love and support committed to the healing of the world; nurtured by living bread.
As you worship, pray, and lead your students this academic term, we hope that this resource will sustain you, support you, and give you sustenance on the journey. May you know that the God who calls us into this ministry promises to be our Emmanuel, God with us, in every new beginning and in every uncertain ending of our lives. The Term is here to be means of God’s grace in your ministry.
