Prophet Muhammad

What is a beautiful action, O Apostle of Allah? Gabriel was asking.
That one worships Allah, as if one saw Him. For if one does not see Him, truly Allah sees the one who worships Him. Muhammad’s thoughts were trembling.

My dear, kind Uncle, even if they placed the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left to make me renounce my message, it wouldn’t happen. I will never give it up until it pleases Allah to make it a triumph, or I will perish in the attempt.’ His eyes were shining.

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Beneficent
Lo! We revealed it on the Night of Power
Ah, what will convey to thee what the Night of Power is
The Night of Power is better than a thousand months
The angels and the spirits descend therein
By the permission of their Lord, with all decrees
That night is peace until the rising of dawn.

A beacon of desperate appeal lit up in Muhammad’s gaze. ‘Will no one join me to pour the light of love and truth into the hearts of the Meccans?’
Not a ripple of response from any of the guests to melt this shroud of silence which had frozen into a glacier, white and glittering. It was ripped open by the action of Ali, who leapt to his feet as if stung.
‘I will, Muhammad, I will!’ Ali bounded towards Muhammad as swiftly as his lanky frame could carry him. ‘You will be my Messenger of Allah.’

Wherever you turn, you can see the face of Allah,’ Muhammad replied.

Allah, the eternally besought of all
He begetteth not, nor was begotten
And there is none comparable to Him.
