The Silent Titan

For millennia, the obsidian colossus known as the Silent Titan has shielded the twilight city of Veyrn from the horrors lurking between worlds.  Its power source remains a closely guarded secret: Kael, a man trapped within the Titan's heart, his memories and identity sacrificed for Veyrn's survival. He exists as a living conduit, enduring an unending battle against entities that claw at the veil, his only companion the gnawing emptiness of forgotten ages.
But the Titan is faltering, not from external assault, but from within. Cracks spiderweb across its obsidian form, mirroring the fractures in Kael's enforced amnesia.  Fragments of a sunlit past surface: a woman with twilight eyes, a desperate pact shrouded in pain, a world teetering on the brink of destruction.
In Veyrn, tremors ripple through the city, strange luminous flora blooms in shadowed alleys, and Jody Kelly, a young archivist, unearths ancient texts whispering of a forgotten sacrifice, a Titan bound to a silent guardian. The city’s salvation, she realizes, feeds on Kael's suffering.
Beyond Veyrn’s walls, Valeria Johnston, the Crimson Hand’s ruthless warlord, senses the Titan’s weakening.  She craves the raw power humming beyond the veil, a power she believes the Titan holds the key to.  Her monstrous legions, twisted parodies of nature, begin their siege, their forms mirroring the very entities Kael eternally battles — a chilling parallel between external threat and internal struggle.
As Valeria’s forces tighten their grip, Kael’s fractured memories coalesce. He remembers Elara, their love a beacon in a darkening world, and his desperate pact to become the Titan’s vessel, a sacrifice to save her, to save Veyrn. The city, he understands, thrives on his oblivion, its blissful ignorance a cruel testament to his forgotten love.
Jody races against time to awaken Veyrn, to expose the horrific truth underpinning their safety. But the city clings to its ignorance, addicted to the peace bought with Kael’s silence.
