My seasoned housemate Cliff is good at chess and I dabble too, but I’ve never beaten him. Heck, I barely even win a piece!
I’ve been begging him for another game for a long time now and he finally relents, but with one caveat. If he wins the game he gets anything he wants from me as a favor. I counter by telling him I get anything I want from him if I so much as capture a piece that isn’t a pawn.
