It’s important as an Empath to center yourself and stay grounded. Be aware of your center spark within yourself and stay focused on it. Practice and see if you are able to switch your awareness to the environment and then back to your center – notice the difference in feeling and get well acquainted with it. Centering yourself is an important and necessary element Empaths need to learn to maintain their mental health and coping skills.

Find Out Where the Emotion Comes From

First and foremost, remember that YOU have needs too. While it is okay and admirable to assist others, do not self-sacrifice to the point that it is detrimental to your health and well-being. You can’t help others if you can’t help yourself first. Assess whether helping the person is going to have a negative effect on you first, determine pros and cons of helping the person, and weigh up if it is worth the risk or not. Helping people is always admirable, but you need to remember the person in most cases is able to help themselves.
    ● Take a step back and reassess when you begin to feel sorry for someone. Remind yourself that everyone has ups and downs in their lives and you cannot solve everyone's problems. While it’s okay to help people when in urgent need, you need to create a healthier balance and allow that person to take charge of his or her own life and

Step 3 Patience - Patience is indeed a virtue that has seem to have been lost in this age of instant gratification. Everyone seems to want immediate, instant, and quick results for almost anything you can think of. The art of patience has lost its value, and more and more we see people who engage in reckless behaviors lack this subtle virtue. Mastering your emotions will take patience internally and outwardly, the patience to wait, and the patience to tolerate others. By no means is patience effortless, but will take practice, restraint and self control. The sooner you implement patience the wiser you become!
Step 4 Observation - By becoming an objective observer which is sort of like a neutral witness you perceive the world without subjectivity. Although we all have some degree of bias engrained in us, we can still attempt to view the world in objective lenses. By setting this framework up we can view scenarios as they happen, and not be moved emotionally by them, but understand why a certain series of cascading events occurred. This gives us leverage over our emotions as now we operate on the basis of objectivity and can make decisions based on facts, and not circumstantial emotions.
Step 5 Rationalization - A lot of times when we let our emotions get out of control we don't really think straight. Our minds are overwhelmed with strong emotional influences and attachments which often make us make bad decisions. But, by rationalizing we reason with ourselves and ask questions. This helps control and alleviate the "emotional high" we may be going through and assists us into seeing things in more clarity. It's like injecting ourselves with a quick dose of reality that brings us back into a state of sensibility as oppose to irrationalism.

Step 1 Awareness - We must be cognizant of our emotions, whether sad, joyful, angry, zealous, etc. By identifying our emotions we can easily pin point and gauge what we are feeling at that point in time. This enables us to quickly recognize the emotional hue we are going through, and take the appropriate action when necessary. Meaning if your angry, you would not want to be in the same room of the stimulus that has elicited your rage, thus, you would depart from the scenario before the situation could potentially escalate. Don't add fuel to the fire by staying present while negative emotions pent up, depart so you don't do anything that could further worsen the situation or be provoked to more anger.
Step 2 Meditation - The power of meditation cannot be underestimated, and its beneficial effects are evident through the practice of various techniques such as yoga. Meditating by calming your mind and creating a blank canvas for your mind to relax is essential to mastering your emotions. Daily we are bombarded with different stimulates that trigger a plethora of emotions, and thus create a cluster of chaos within our minds. Meditating alleviates such chaos and brings us into a calm and tranquil state where we find peace and oneness within the confines of our mind. This is great practice and it's like emptying all the negativity in our minds, and recharging it with calmness. This
