    A more natural result can be achieved by manually combining different areas of highlight and shadow that have been produced from the same shot during RAW processing. This technique is explained further on click here.

    Also look out for curves and ‘S’ shapes. These can have a similar effect of leading the eye and are even more dynamic.

    If you are photographing one of the great travel icons, such as the Pyramids of Giza or the Grand Canyon, try to include an interesting object in the foreground, such as a local trader or a unique vehicle.

    The crucial question to ask yourself is what is it about the subject that makes you want to take a picture? Try to drill your thoughts down to what you find remarkable about the subject, in the true sense of the word. If someone were to be standing next to you, what would you point out and remark upon.
