The novel “pain of not belonging” follows the intertwined stories of two friends hailing from contrasting backgrounds. One is wealthy, possessing a dark and striking beauty, while the other is pure and fair-skinned, equally beautiful in her own right. When the town crier announces that the village prince will be selecting a bride during the upcoming festival, all eligible maidens are expected to participate. However, unforeseen circumstances befall one of the friends before the festival, rendering her ineligible to compete. Despite this setback, she decides to attend the festival, leading to a series of unexpected events that alter her destiny, stripping her of her autonomy and leaving her feeling unwanted.
