The year is 1919 and a man has returned from the First World War trenches with life-changing injuries. Since returning home, he has struggled to re-adapt to normal life and has fallen into a serious financial peril as a result. In an effort to get his life back in order, he and his family move to a remote country manor owned by his immediate family. But the house has a troubled history of its own, with its previous occupant having been implicated in a number of murders. Are these rumours of past evils merely the product of superstition? Or does something far more sinister await the family within the house's walls?
