“Lost at the South Pole, or, Ted Scott in Blizzard Land” is the eleventh book in the Ted Scott Flying Stories series, written by J.W. Duffield. The series is a work of juvenile fiction and adventure, with an aviation theme. J.W. Duffield, also known as John William Duffield, was an American bookseller, publisher, and writer. He primarily worked for the Stratemeyer Syndicate, a book packaging firm, where he wrote and published over 115 stories under various pen names. One of his notable pen names was Franklin W. Dixon, under which he wrote the Ted Scott Flying Series. This series was heavily influenced by the life of Charles A. Lindbergh, the famous aviator.
