A native of rural Guilford County, North Carolina, Charles Causey has been involved in the aviation field most of his life as a pilot, aircraft mechanic, and aircraft parts manufacturer. He was just thirteen years old when he learned to fly and seventeen years old when he earned his private pilot certification. During those many years in the business, most days proved to be mundane and routine. Some days, however, held excitement and challenges. In Piedmont Hangar Tales, Causey shares a collection of stories from his experiences working in the aviation industry. Some of the narratives are humorous, some are family stories, some are almost unbelievable (but actually happened), and some are historical. Though he grew up on the farm, he didn’t make his living by farming.
