It’s 2086. ITSU, an Artificial Intelligence program, is re-activated by a coder named Ima after being removed from the neural-implant of his human host. While Ima tries to fix his damaged program, ITSU tells her a story of his human host, a technopath named Áine, the daughter of ITSU’s creator.
ITSU’s story begins in the aftermath of Áine’s father’s murder in 2066. Still raw with emotion and in need of answers, Áine decides to leave her life in London and returns to the place she was raised, Tokyo, replacing her father at NTech, the company he left behind. In a boardroom full of predators, Áine quickly realizes just how difficult finding her father’s killer will be. It’s there she crosses paths with Garrison, a childhood sweetheart who becomes an attraction she wants but a distraction she needs to avoid.
A breakthrough links the murder to the Yakuza, now the most dominant crime syndicate on the planet. The clue leads her to the darkest corner of the criminal underworld, where she discovers an horrific truth. In a bloody conclusion, full of lies, deceit, and betrayal, Áine must choose the lesser of two evils. Allow all of humanity to be enslaved, or let hundreds of innocent people die.
