As if he’d be able to re-do their entire conversation from the very beginning. He’d tell him that he remembered every word they shared at the gala, and that everything he said was true. That he missed him so terribly sometimes that it physically hurt, and sometimes it felt like he’d never wanted to fall in love again, not unless it was going to be with him. He’d reassure him that he could never stay mad at James for that long anyways, and that he just needed time to process his feelings before talking with him. But most importantly, he’d make sure not to call Remus ‘nothing’, as if he ever could be anything else but everything

It was laughable, in a sense. To hear that Sirius genuinely believed that he was dead to Remus. That Remus actually hated him at one point. Because how the fuck could anyone in the world hate Sirius?

There was no way Sirius missed him.  At least, not like Remus missed him. Like it felt as though he had a vital organ yanked from his body, and was forced to learn how to live without it.  As though he was shoved into a body of water head-first, unable to swim, longing for a single breath of air. Some days he felt Sirius’ absence like an open wound like he was unable to simply exist anywhere in the world when all he wanted was him.

“Maybe I just missed you? Did you ever consider that?”

He was going to sing a song about his ex-boyfriend in front of his ex-boyfriend. Why the fuck had he chosen Moon?

“I’d be happy to explain any day now if you could refrain from ogling my brother for a couple of minutes,”

At the front of the banquet hall, staring directly at them with an unreadable expression was Sirius Black
