As the title suggests, this book really is about a pigeon, and although the subject matter might suggest it is true, it really isn't. The book was written for younger readers and is essentially a story about what happened to him: how he learns to fly, how he trains for war duties, how he mates and finally comes into the Wisdom of the Lama.
