“Trifles” by Susan Glaspell was first performed on 8th of August, 1916. The play’s first performance took place at the Wharf Theatre in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
One year after the debut of “Trifles”, the playwright adapted a story titled “A Jury of Her Peers” from the play.
It is noticeable that the author played the role of Mrs. Hale, one of the characters, in the original play. The play has found its very distinct place in American Literature and world literature.
One more admirable point to be noted is that “Trifles” is often anthologized in American literature textbooks prescribed at several schools and colleges around the country.
